The Gonzalo Higuain deal continues to dominate the headlines this morning; and once again he is apparently on his way to London to formalise the finalities of a deal.
A report in The Sun, updated this morning, suggests that the two clubs finally agreed on a fee for the Argentine striker last night thought to be in the region of £23 million.
Higuain has been given permission to fly in for talks and the report claims he could undergo a medical and sign his £100k-a-week deal today.
Wenger wants him to join the rest of the first team on their Asian tour which is why they have decided to tie up the deal this weekend.
The 25-year-old will become the clubs record signing; however we will forgive Arsenal fans for not taking the report too seriously as there have already been many red herrings in this transfer saga. But could this finally be the end of the ordeal?
Arsenal will not be signing Asier Illarramendi this summer. Considered a similar type of player to former Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso the Real Sociedad midfielder looks set to join Alonso at Real Madrid this summer.
Reports suggest that the capital side are at an advanced negotiation stage with the Basque club over a £25 million move for the 23-year-old holding midfielder.
Bacary Sagna’s agent has been talking up a potential move for his client overnight. Laurent Gutsmuth stated:
‘’Bacary still has a year left on his contract but Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested.’’
Sagna’s current deal expires in the summer and so far the club and player have failed to come to an agreement on the length of his extension. The French international has also criticised the clubs transfer policy in the past 12 months and openly admitted he could be lured away by a move to France.
With young right-back prospect Hector Bellerin recently handed a new ‘long-term’ deal at the club Arsenal may now be willing to depart with the 30-year-old.
