Well at least in terms of incomings; as so far the only player to arrive through the entrance door at The Emirates has been free transfer Yaya Sanogo from AJ Auxerre.
In terms of exits it has been another story entirely.
Arsenal have seen fit to get rid of 19 players from the team permanently; including the likes of Vito Mannone, Andrei Arshavin and Denilson.
And today they have also finalised two temporary exits from the club; temporary exit’s however that seem permanent.
Johan Djourou has gone on loan for the season to Hamburg SV in search of first-team football and has an option in his deal to move permanently at the end of the season.
That move came as no surprise but the other loan deal confirmed today did.
Francis Coquelin has signed a loan-deal for the rest of the season, also in Germany, with SC Freiburg.
While not a regular starter for the team his utility abilities and versatility made him a useful member of the squad.
But it does not even seem as though Arsenal are looking forward to his return; because they have given his number ‘22’ shirt to the new boy Yaya Sanogo.
Sanogo could have had any of the following squad numbers next season; 13, 18, 23, 39 … all numbers which were vacant.
But instead he decided he wanted to keep Coquelin’s number warm for him whilst he is in the Bundesliga; but we doubt he will be handing it back in a years time.
And also on the Arsenal shirt number front Abou Diaby has changed his number from ‘2’ to ‘24’; which, for a staunch believer in the right numbers for the right position, is positive news.
Whether we get to see the Frenchman actually on the pitch wearing it is another question entirely.
