Liverpool latest: Including Suarez to report back and Dzsudzsak

Luis Suarez has been told he must join up with Liverpool on their tour of Australia this month. Suarez made it clear during the recent Confederations Cup that he’d be open to a move away from Anfield, with Real Madrid still thought to be very keen on signing him.

Liverpool could be on the verge of signing Balazs Dzsudzsak after Hungarian newspaper Nemzeti Sport claimed he’d been to Liverpool to work out a deal. The paper also claims a £12 million fee is in place and Dynamo Moscow will announce the deal shortly.

Liverpool have been boosted if they are still interested in Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld. The player’s agent has confirmed that Bayer Leverkusen have pulled out of a deal to sign him, which means a move to Anfield could be back on the cards this summer.

Liverpool remain in the hunt to sign David Villa according to the bookies. If Luis Suarez leaves the club, Liverpool will reportedly turn their attention to signing the Barcelona striker who has been strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur over the last week.

Liverpool could be about to step up their pursuit of highly rated FC Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos. The Daily Mirror has reported that Brendan Rodgers is ready to target the Greek star, who has been linked with the club since virtually the end of last season.

Bookmakers have stopped taking bets on the possibility of Luis Suarez signing for Arsenal. A series of large bets were placed in Spain over night, which caused the new this morning, raising the suggestion that Liverpool’s star player could make the move down south to the Emirates.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has revealed Brendan Rodgers advised him to join Swansea City. Shelvey has said Rodgers refused to sell him to a club that wouldn’t aid his development and that has revealed his former boss thinks the Swans are perfect for his style of play.

Brendan Rodgers has called new goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, one of the best shot stoppers in Europe. Rodgers has revealed he’s been very open with his goalkeepers ahead of the new season, giving Mignolet every chance of starting as the club’s number one.

Former Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson has praised the way Liverpool’s transfer business has changed. He points out that a couple of years back Liverpool were playing huge fees for players where the emphasis is now on making quality and good value additions.
