Football League transfer talk: Including James Vaughan and Simeon Jackson

Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers all feature.

Huddersfield Town have signed striker James Vaughan from Norwich City. The forward spent time on loan with the club last season and has joined from the Premier League team for an undisclosed fee. He scored 14 goals in 37 appearances for the club last season.

Bournemouth are closing in on a deal to sign former Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson. Jackson was released by the Canaries and is free to find himself a new club, with Bournemouth favourites to sign him as they look for ways to improve their current attacking options.

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has revealed the club have no intention of signing Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes. Recent reports have suggested that Bolton could pay close to £10 million for the forward but Freedman has since dismissed the links.

Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle has said he’s looking to add attacking firepower to his side before the new season. With Arouna Kone set to join Everton, Coyle is looking for sensible additions who will improve the club’s chances of getting back into the Premier League.

Dorus de Vries has completed a switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Nottingham Forest. The 32-year-old was told at the end of last season that he could leave Wolves of a suitable club came in for him and forest boss Billy Davies says his experience will be priceless.

Blackpool boss Paul Ince says he is ready to give the club’s fans some good news. The main transfer story at Bloomfield Road this summer has related to Tom Ince but the boss has confirmed the club are actively looking for fresh faces to improve the side.

Blackburn Rovers are in advanced talks with Matt Kilgallon, formerly of Sunderland. The defender has been released by the Black Cats which means Blackburn are under no pressure to get a deal done quickly and Kilgallon is thought to be keen on starting fresh with the Championship side.
