De Rossi Tackle On Rooney - England v Italy Euro 2012

A round up of the latest transfer news about Chelsea featuring Daniele De Rossi, Edinson Cavani and John Ruddy

Chelsea are lining up a move for experienced Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on the £10 million rated Italian, as John Obi Mikel seeks to complete a move to Turkish club Galatasaray.

De Rossi’s age and his faltering reputation in Serie A are thought to be two main reasons why he’s considering a summer exit away and Stamford Bridge could be the ideal destination.

Chelsea have been dealt a big blow in their pursuit of Edinson Cavani after Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed the club aren’t under pressure to sell the striker.

Cavani has been linked with Chelsea for most of the summer but the Napoli president has rejected claims PSG have triggered his buy-out clause, stating they don’t need to sell him.

“We have not received an offer from PSG for Cavani. We are a rich club that respects financial fair play, we do not need to sell our players,” he told Sky Sport 24.

Chelsea are set to make a new offer for Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy by the end of the week.

Chelsea are keen on the England goalkeeper after Atletico Madrid managed to tie down Thibaut Courtois on another season long loan deal.

Reports suggest Chelsea will go back to Norwich with a £7 million offer, but the East Anglia club are expected to hold out for their valuation of closer to the £10 million mark.
