Swansea City have agreed a £6 million fee with Liverpool for midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
The 21-year-old midfielder was thought to be the centre of a possible season long loan deal away from Anfield but the two clubs have reached an agreement, which sets up the issue of personal terms of and a medical.
Shelvey was dropped from the Liverpool first team during the second half of last season and was also criticised for his performances at the Under-21 European Championship with England.
Spearing spent time on loan with Bolton Wanderers last season and doesn’t appear to have a future in the team under current boss Brendan Rodgers.
Wigan have been linked with the 24-year-old strongly over the last couple of weeks, keen to add Bolton’s Player of the Year from last season to their ranks, who has two years left to run on his current Liverpool deal.
Liverpool are ready to re-enter the race to sign Tom Ince from Blackpool according to latest reports.
Liverpool were thought to be put off by Blackpool’s valuation of the player, but Cardiff City’s bid of £8 million means the Anfield club will have to come up with at least that amount to get their player back.
The deal may also be complicated by the fact Liverpool inserted a sell-on clause into the original deal which took Ince to Blackpool from Merseyside.
