Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Vitesse Arnhem over a deal for Marco van Ginkel.
The 20-year-old star has reportedly already met with Jose Mourinho and is ready to return to his club this week, in order to sort out his future.
Van Ginkel’s possible £8 million move seems to depend on how much first team football he will get and how a move to Chelsea may affect his chances of getting into the Netherlands’ World Cup squad for Brazil 2014.
Galatasaray are about to resume negotiations with Chelsea over the transfer of midfielder John Obi Mikel.
The Nigerian star has admitted that he is looking to link up with former Chelsea favourite Didier Drogba at the Turkish club after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
“I have a four-year contract with Chelsea, but you know, in football you can never guess, one day you are here, the next day you might leave,” he was quoted in the Daily Mail.
Chelsea are expected to increase their offer for Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy.
The East Anglia club have already turned down a £5 million offer from the Blues, but they are expected to go back with a larger offer as Jose Mourinho seeks cover for Petr Cech ahead of the new season.
Norwich are thought to be holding out for a fee of £10 million and they are under no pressure to sell.
“We see very much John's future here,” said Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
