Liverpool transfer news: Russian sources say Mkhitaryan fee agreed

A select round up of the latest transfer news concerning Liverpool including Mkhitaryan, Kjaer and Toure.

Several Russian media sources have claimed Liverpool have agreed a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian star has been the subject of Liverpool interest for several weeks and it now seems that all parties have finally reached an agreement over price.

That would leave Mkhitaryan free to negotiate personal terms with Liverpool ahead of a move in the current transfer window.

Liverpool transfer target Simon Kjaer is ready to sign a new deal with Wolfsburg, ending the chance of any move to Anfield.

The defender has been tipped to join Brendan Rodgers’ young and vibrant squad but it seems the 24-year-old’s main priority is to try and remain in German football.

“It depends on our negotiations and how Wolfsburg see things. I certainly would be willing to sign. If they were to offer a new contract and could offer guarantees about playing an important part,” Kjaer told Ekstra Bladet.

Kolo Toure is set to complete his move to Liverpool today, signing an initial two-year deal.

The centre back was not offered a new contract by former club Manchester City which means he signs as a free agent and was free to choose the club of his choice ahead of the new season.

Liverpool’s first team squad return to training today to start their pre-season schedule ahead of a first friendly against Preston North End.
