Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Including Croatian double swoop and Paulinho

A select round-up of transfer rumours relating to Tottenham Hotspur, including Alen Halilovic, Tin Jedvaj, Paulinho and Leandro Damiao.

Press reports in Croatia have indicated Tottenham Hotspur are on the brink of agreeing a deal with Dinamo Zagreb for Tin Jedvaj and Alen Halilovic. Dinamo president Mirko Barisic claimed a deal which could rise to £15million has been agreed for the 17-year-old pair, who will likely stay in Croatia on loan if a move goes through.

Halilovic has been widely compared to Luka Modric, who Spurs also signed from Dinamo Zagreb, but the Croatian club’s sporting director believes he can become even better than the Real Madrid midfielder. The youngster already has a cap for Croatia, and featured in the Champions League last season.

Jedvaj has been the subject of interest from both Arsenal and Roma in recent weeks, and the 17-year-old defender has also been called up to the Croatian squad this season, although he has not played for the national team yet.

Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has said again that nothing has been decided about his future yet, with the 24-year-old expected to agree to a move to Tottenham Hotspur this week. Paulinho was part of the Brazil team that won the Confederations Cup last night, beating Spain 3-0 in the final, and has been delaying any transfer talks until after the tournament.

Corinthians have indicated they hope to convince the midfielder to stay for a month to play a couple more games for them, whilst there have also been rumours that Real Madrid could make a late move for the player, with Spurs hoping to wrap a deal as quickly as possible.

The director of football at Brazilian club Internacional has said that there have been no bids for striker Leandro Damiao this summer, with Spurs apparently deciding against a move for their long-term target. Luis Cesar Souto de Moura said the club were now looking at the possibility of keeping Damiao, despite previously expecting he would finally make a move to Europe this summer.
