A select round up of Liverpool transfer stories including Mamadou Sakho and Tottenham's attempts to steal Mkhitaryan.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho has confirmed that there is an offer on the table for his transfer.
It’s unknown whether Liverpool are the origin of that offer but considering how strongly linked they have been with the player recently, there is every chance Brendan Rodgers urged the Liverpool board to commission a deal for the centre back.
Liverpool have made some superb value signings to the attack of their squad and Rodgers now seems ready to switch his focus to the defence.
“Every player wants to play every week, too. There is an offer on the table,” said Sakho.
Liverpool’s FC Porto target Christian Atsu has admitted he would be willing to let his current contract expire, if he can’t get a transfer away from the club.
Atsu’s current deal expires next summer, which means if Liverpool hold out, they could sign the wide man for free though he’s thought to want a move now to enhance his chances of getting into Ghana’s World Cup squad for Brazil 2014.
According to several recent reports, Atsu would cost Liverpool around the £3 million mark if they complete a deal for him in the current transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur are ready to compete with Liverpool for the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan according to the Daily Mail.
The Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder is thought to be close to an Anfield switch but any late Tottenham bid could dent Liverpool’s chances of getting the midfielder. Liverpool have been linked with the £20-23 million rated player for several weeks.
The reports suggest Spurs will go in with a £25 million offer, which will force Liverpool’s budget to be stretched to the very limit if they are then drawn into a bidding war as a result.
