Tottenham Hotspur weekend round-up: Including AVB rallying dream and Adebayor

News and gossip from the past 48 hours at White Hart Lane.

Andre Villas-Boas has been speaking to the Portuguese press today and made some shocking revelations. At first he spoke about his joy at having Franco Baldini employed as technical director at the club as it is a system he has previously become accustomed to.

But he also made a bizarre announcement about his future in the game. AVB announced that he plans to quit football management within the next five to ten years in order to pursue a lifelong dream of participating in the Dakar Rally.

He is also said to be keen on a summer clear-out at the club. It is believed that Tom Huddlestone will be the first to depart the club while Emmanuel Adebayor, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker could all follow him out the door.

Emmanuel Adebayor has been linked with a move to Turkey this weekend. Super Lig outfit Besiktas are reportedly looking to bring in the Togolese striker this summer. The club feel they can afford the players wages due to Turkey’s favourable tax conditions and through gaining corporate sponsorship to finance the move.

Tottenham Hotspur’s first, second and third kit have reportedly been leaked online. The club is set to be sponsored by Hewlett Packard once again next season and the HP logo adorns the entirety of the third kit in rather garish fashion. Whether the kits are accurate or not remains to be seen.

The Paulinho deal could be finalised tomorrow after the Confederations Cup Final tonight releases him to talk to the club about a move. However we have taken a look at the issue that might just get in the way; third-party ownership; the same problem that got in the way of a move for Joao Moutinho last summer.

Finally and ex-Arsenal Edu player has expressed his jealousy at Tottenham being on the brink of signing the player. The former Gunners midfielder is now director of football at his current club Corinthians and he has called him unique today whilst singing his praises.
