We highlight five players United fans should keep their eyes on this summer.
As July is at its advent professional footballers can start to think about getting back to work with many of them likely to be itching for the opportunity.
United are embarking on perhaps their most intriguing season in years as David Moyes takes over from the long serving Sir Alex Ferguson at the Theatre of Dreams and doubts continue to rumble about Wayne Rooney’s future at the club.
But who needs to use pre-season to impress?
The talented Belgian teen has earned plenty of plaudits after his impressive performances this season and was even considered for the first-team toward the end of last season.
Giving him some game-time with the first teamers out in Asia and Oceania could be the perfect build-up to the new campaign.
Fletcher has been suffering with ulcerative colitis for a while now and recently underwent bowel surgery in an attempt to alleviate the problem.
It seems that surgery was a success as he edges closer to a return to first-team action and will join up with the first-team squad this pre-season.
He strikes me as a Moyes type of player so it will be interesting to see if he has lost any of his previous attributes.
OK he is not a player as such but he will certainly be the centre of attention at the start of the season for United.
It will be very interesting to see how he interacts with his new team and how he uses players during the pre-season fixtures.
The youngster will be wanting to send a message to Moyes this summer.
He did not feature as much as he would have liked in his debut season but when he did he looked impressive and he will be putting the pressure on himself to prove his worth ahead of the new campaign.
The January signing from Crystal Palace finally gets a chance to pull on a United shirt in anger this summer and after his impressive end to the season United fans will be very excited to see him in action this summer.
Could he cement a possible starting place by impressing Moyes and co?
Who do you think we should keep an eye on this summer?
