Arsene Wenger may not have been very happy when he saw the images of one of his strikers putting himself in harm’s way.
Lukas Podolski is a bit of an adrenaline freak and there’s nothing wrong with that providing he satisfies that urge in a safe way.
When Arsene Wenger first saw the pictures of his star striker sitting in a rally car, he may not have been a very happy man if he hadn’t been told about the German’s summer holiday plans.
It’s quite refreshing to see a professional footballer doing something else in his free time other than spending thousands of pounds on luxury holidays that the vast majority of us can only dream of, or partying it up in Ibiza.
However, Podolski may be in for a cheeky telling off when he links back up with the Arsenal team with a word in the boss’ office most likely on the agenda.
“You’re shaken as if you’re in a drum, right, left, up, down. I was already with Michael Schumacher a couple of times in Formula 1, but as the rally drivers control their car it is just amazing,” said the German.
All very well and good but there would have been hell to pay had a slight crash caused a significant injury, that may have kept Podolski out of the start of the season.
