European transfer talk: Featuring Isco, Dos Santos and Szalai

News and gossip from transfers on the continent; including Manchester City and Arsenal former targets and an ex-Tottenham player.

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Isco from Malaga. The Spanish Under-21 international was one of the continent’s most coveted stars this summer and Manchester City were believed to be the front-runners for his signature considering the previous working relationship between the player and new manager Manuel Pellegrini. However a deal has now been agreed which will see him switch Malaga for a five-year-deal at the Bernabeu.

Schalke 04 are on the verge of signing Adam Szalai from Mainz. Mainz recently announced the acquisition of Japan international Shinji Okazaki and now they have signed up a replacement they are happy to let the Hungarian complete his long proposed switch to the Gelsenkirchen.

Walter Gargano is reportedly being eyed up by teams in Turkey. The Uruguayan joined Inter Milan on loan from Napoli last summer but it now seems he is not wanted by either team next season. His agent will fly to Istanbul to talk to several clubs next week; with Galatasaray and Besiktas being mentioned.

Antonio Cassano is close to finalising his deal with Parma; ahead of a swap deal involving Ishak Belfodil. The Italian international, 31, is reportedly just a ‘few details’ away from tying down a move. Matias Silvestri will also go in the same direction.

Villarreal have joined the race for former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona forward Giovanni Dos Santos. The Mexican had an exceptional campaign with RCD Mallorca last season but despite his excellent individual performances he could not stop the Balearic side from sliding into relegation. Atletico Madrid and Valencia are also said to be keen.

Roma are ready to make a move for Atletico Madrid winger Koke. The 21-year-old is wanted in the Italian capital and it could be a swap deal comes to fruition for the player; as the Madrid outfit want Pablo Osvaldo.
