News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

The Gonzalo Higuain deal continues to dominate Arsenal headlines but there have been no new developments on the matter since we brought you the Arsenal latest yesterday. Arsenal are still said to be close to signing the player for £22 million after Juventus decided to go for compatriot Carlos Tevez instead.

Andrey Arshavin has re-signed for Zenit St Petersburg. The Russian was recently told he could leave Arsenal on a free transfer this summer and the 32-year-old is now keen to get back to playing in his hometown; and potentially for the national team again. Fabio Capello has called up players to the Russian team predominantly from the national pool playing in the Russian Premier League since taking the job last summer.

One team who have agreed on terms for the transfer of Danish international Nicklas Bendtner have been revealed. The 25-year-old is currently on holiday thinking about his next career move after The Gunners admitted that they had agreed terms with five teams; one of which has been confirmed as Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt. However the club wait for Bendtner to answer on the subject of personal terms.

Johan Djourou’s future continues to be a source of debate. Some reports today have suggested that the Swiss international had agreed a season long loan deal with Hamburg SV ahead of a potential permanent deal at the end of the season. But Hannover, who had him on loan last season, still feel they can secure a potential permanent deal for the 26-year-old.

The Metro have carried a funny story on the group of Arsenal fans who have developed a ‘build your own Gervinho’ kit. It comes amid speculation that the cult hero could be let go this summer after some hapless displays on the pitch but some fans certainly do not want to see the back of him next term.

And on the site we have taken a look at whether Maraoune Fellaini could become as important to Arsenal as former skipper Patrick Vieira once was.
