Frederic Kanoute is a name known to Premier League fans, for two separate spells with West Ham and Tottenham between 2000 and 2005.
The talented Malian striker left for Sevilla in La Liga in 2005, barely looking back as he enjoyed seven successful seasons with the Spanish club.
Nowadays he can be found in China, signing a two-year deal with Beijing Guoan last June.
The 35-year-old is certainly enjoying his football out in the Far East, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 17 appearances prior to yesterday.
Just over 24 hours ago he played a starring role in Beijing's 3-0 win over Shandong Luneng, setting up two goals and scoring a third.
Kanoute was clearly dominant, proving to his club that he is well worth the money spent to bring him over, unlike Chinese Super League flops Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka who did not stick around.
