Bruno Gomes is potentially Manchester United's next future star. The teenager plays for developmental team Desportivo Brasil in his homeland currently, who have an agreement with the Red Devils in place.
Gomes is one of three players earmarked for switches to Old Trafford along with Wellington Bueno and Lucas Evangalista, when they turn 18 - but not before due to Brazilian regulations.
United have first option on his signature, and will no doubt be keeping track of the latest developments surrounding the striker who netted seven goals in one game earlier this year.
The 16-year-old is today celebrating his first international call-up, being brought into Brazil's under-17 squad.
He was congratulated by Desportivo teammate Wellington Bueno who sent him the following tweet:
Good luck man goal Bruno Gomes ( @ B9oficial ) in the Brazilian National Team Under 17! I hope to play with you soon.— Wellington Bueno (@wbueno96) June 26, 2013
While his representative Alexis Malavolta also declared the youngster delighted with the news.
Bruno Gomes ( @b9oficial ) is happy for his call for the Brazilian National Team Under 17!— Alexis Malavolta (@AlexisMalavolta) June 14, 2013
The FIFA under-17 World Cup takes place in October in the United Arab Emirates, with the draw taking place in late August, with tickets going on sale today.
Gomes' Brazilian compatriot Neymar, now of Barcelona, played at the tournament and will no doubt hope to enjoy a similar amount of success in his career that the current Confederations Cup star has.
