Liverpool face fresh competition from Borussia Dortmund in their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The midfielder is thought to be the subject of a €25 million Euro bid from the German giants which threatens to ruin Liverpool’s chances of signing him.
Liverpool will stand firm over the future of striker Luis Suarez. Several reports have suggested the striker’s representatives have already agreed terms over a move to Real Madrid but the club’s stance hasn’t changed; he’s not for sale and they won’t listen to offers.

Teenage winger Raheem Sterling has returned to training ahead of schedule. The 18-year-old has made the decision to get over his fitness problems at the back end of last season and he joins club captain Steven Gerrard on the training field earlier than expected ahead of next season.

The Hillsborough memorial could be moved as part of the redevelopment of Anfield. The tribute to the 96 fans who lost their lives in the disaster is currently situated at the Anfield Road End and could be moved to another prominent position once the redevelopment work has been completed.
