Gonzalo Higuain’s brother and agent Nicolas has confirmed that he is on the verge of signing for Arsenal. He had this to say about the recent links with Juventus and Napoli:
"If Tevez joins Juve, is Higuain closer to Arsenal? I think so. Juventus is a great club, but Gonzalo is too expensive for them. Napoli are a strong team. Having said that, I cannot deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal."
Arsenal fans will no longer have to worry about losing Arsene Wenger to Paris Saint-Germain this season; as the French champions have just appointed Laurent Blanc as the replacement for Real Madrid-bound Carlo Ancelotti.
However Darren Lewis in The Mirror believes that PSG will still approach Wenger next summer regardless of results under Blanc.
Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs has made it clear that at the present moment in time his club football is ahead of his international football. The 23-year-old held off the challenge of newcomer Nacho Monreal last season but still lost out in the battle for a place in the England team for the post-season international friendly fixtures. Instead he now hopes to remain fit next season and help Arsenal end their trophy drought.
Santi Cazorla feels that next season will be a much tighter championship race. This year saw Manchester United dominate the Premier League but Cazorla feels that with all the managerial changes occurring at the top of the table it will be a close campaign next term.
Arsenal are in a battle for French youngster Gilbert Imbula. The young midfielder is currently at Guingamp and is valued at around £8 million by the recently promoted Ligue 1 side. Monaco were previously linked while Roma, under the management of Frenchman Rudi Garcia, are also said to be keen on a deal.
Finally, and Arsenal’s away kit for next season has reportedly been leaked on Twitter. The kit, which has a Borussia Dortmund feel, has appeared online and looks pretty official.
