The Daily Express has reported that Manuel Pellegrini will urge Manchester City to make a £35 million bid for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez. City seem ready to focus their attention on another target after they failed to trigger Edinson Cavani’s buy out clause with Napoli.

Liverpool transfer targeted Henrikh Mkhitarayn failed to show up for the first day of pre-season training with current club Shakhtar Donetsk. It could be a move by the midfielder to try and force a move away from the club to Anfield in a £20 million deal.

Liverpool remain firmly in the hunt to sign Barcelona youngster Gerard Deulofeu on a loan deal. The Spanish side they were prepared to let the youngster go on loan next season, which has sparked interest from several Premier League sides and Liverpool have as good a chance as any other team of getting him.

Liverpool are firmly in the hunt to sign Werder Bremen winger Eljero Elia. The midfielder had a terrible record with Juventus in Serie A before his move to Germany, making Liverpool’s interest confusing considering the quality of wide players already at the club.

Liverpool legend and Kop favourite Ian Rush has backed the club’s new striker Iago Aspas to succeed in the Premier League. Aspas will officially complete his move to Liverpool next week and Rush says Liverpool’s style of play will suit the forward who has a solid record from his time in Spain.

Rumours are doing the rounds in the North East that Jordan Henderson could be on his way out of the club. The former Sunderland player could be sacrificed in order for Brendan Rodgers to go after Victor Wanyama according to the Sunderland Echo newspaper/
