Brendan Rodgers has ruled out the exit of Pepe Reina despite the arrival of Simon Mignolet. The Sunderland goalkeeper has linked up with the club amid speculation suggesting Reina could still force a move away from Anfield to go and play for Barcelona in La Liga.

Liverpool are keeping one eye on the situation of Newcastle wide man Hatem Ben Arfa according to the Independent. The Frenchman is thought to be keen on a move following Newcastle’s decision to appoint Joe Kinnear to the role of Director of Football.

Arsene Wenger could destroy any interest Liverpool have in signing Greek defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos from FC Schalke. Liverpool have been linked with the defender for the last couple of months but reports have suggested Wenger will switch his attention to Papadopoulos if he can’t do a deal for Ashley Williams of Swansea.

Liverpool appear to have been beaten to the signature of Tom Ince by Premier League new boys Cardiff City. Cardiff will pay an £8 million fee for the Blackpool midfielder after months of speculation suggesting he was set for a move back to Anfield, to link up with his former team.

Brendan Rodgers has compared the club’s latest signing Luis Alberto to current midfielder Philippe Coutinho. The comparison should excite Liverpool fans as Coutinho has had an instant and dramatic effect on the team following his move from Inter Milan last January.

New Liverpool striker Iago Aspas has insisted Liverpool were his first choice club. Aspas has completed a deal to move to Liverpool following Celta Vigo’s failure to keep him, despite staying in Spain’s top division. Aspas has suggested once he knew Liverpool were interested, the deal was a formality.

Norwich City have entered the race to sign Liverpool target Arouna Kone. The Wigan forward is admired by Brendan Rodgers but a deal could now be off the table with the Canaries willing to battle against any side financially to get their man, which would suck any value out of the deal for Liverpool.

Liverpool have been snubbed in their bid to sign young winger Bruma from Sporting Lisbon. He’s thought to have chosen a £5 million move to FC Porto, which ends Liverpool’s interest and chances of signing him which will be welcome news to the club’s current wingers.

Liverpool’s Conor Coady scored in the England Under-20 side’s opening DRAW at the World Cup in Turkey. The Liverpool man bagged the opener in a 2-2 draw with Iraq. Coady is being tipped for possible graduation to the Liverpool first team on his return from the tournament.
