Tahiti were battered 10-0 by Spain in their Confederations Cup clash last week, and when you place the following story in context there is little surprise as to why the scale of the result was so wide.
Among the substitutes for Tahiti was a player called Efrain Araneda, who Fernando Torres may just have recognised.
Araneda certainly remembered Torres, with good reason.
When Torres got married back in 2009, he and his new wife honeymooned in Tahiti.
He was greeted at the airport of Papeete, by none other than Efrain Araneda who was working as a tourist guide.
Four years laterfor Araneda to be part of a squad sharing the same pitch as Spain, regardless of the result, was a huge achievement and quite incredible fortune.
His story was relayed to the Spanish team, who after the game invited him into the dressing room where he swapped shirts with Torres.
The 25-year-old midfielder may not enjoy a career highlight quite like that one, even despite the 10-0 scoreline.
