News and gossip from the past 48 hours at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham transfer target Paulinho has admitted the North London club have made a bid for his services. The Brazilian international has previously remained coy on his future but had this to say this weekend:
"There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians. But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I'll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision. I will only do it after the Confederations Cup because it's hard to deal with all these things."
Andre Villas-Boas has ruled out a move for both Bernard and Jackson Martinez. He said that while they were continuing to monitor the diminutive attacking playmaker they were unlikely to bring him in this summer. He also categorically denied any interest in signing the Colombian striker from Porto this summer.
Fiorentina are ready to rival Spurs for the signature of Barcelona striker David Villa. The Spanish international has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp for the past few months as his chances of first-team football continued to diminish at the club. Now the Italian outfit are keen to bring him in as potential cover to Stevan Jovetic.
A report today claims that Spurs, along with Liverpool, have dropped their interest in Blackpool winger Thomas Ince. A recent drop off in form from the 20-year-old appears to have put the two clubs off the scent while Everton, Cardiff City and Swansea City are now front-runners for his signature.
Andre Villas Boas has refuted reports that he will be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. He admitted that he regularly talks to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as they are good friends, but he went on to insist his future remained at White Hart Lane.
