Five players who should leave Arsenal before pre-season

Andre Santos 2

We take a look at five players who could be gone ASAP from The Emirates.

The Transfer Window is now in full flow as many a rumour, done deal and negotiation begin to dominate the column inches. Now while more often or not we associate this time of year with new arrivals let us not forget that some players also have to depart.

Most the attention at Arsenal is on who they will be bringing into the club rather than who will be going out. With talk of Maraoune Fellaini, Gonzalo Higuain and Wayne Rooney you can understand why.

But the club also needs to remove plenty of deadwood this summer; with the hope of trimming the squad down as soon as possible.

Here are five that fit the bill…

Nicklas Bendtner

Apparently the Dane has offers from plenty of clubs this summer however so far nothing concrete has actually happened.

Unfortunately the controversial striker has gained more attention for antics off the field than on it in recent months despite his obvious talent.

Arsenal are set to wash their hands of him and the sooner the better.

Johan Djourou

The Swiss international spent the second part of last campaign on loan at Hannover 96 and the Bundesliga outfit wants to borrow him again.

Hamburg SV however want to sign him up permanently as a tug-of-war begins.

Regardless it is already reported that Djourou will not be attending pre-season with The Gunners anyway; preferring to stay in Germany instead.

Andre Santos

The Brazilian full-back recently expressed his disappointment in having to return to The Emirates from Gremio and it would be fair to say the fans were just as perturbed to have him back.

Other teams in Brazil are said to be watching whilst a Turkish return is also on the cards.

Regardless; Arsenal need to ditch him fast.

Maraoune Chamakh

The Moroccan striker has been a flop in North London and is on extortionate wages. He has been linked with a return to Bordeaux despite his woeful loan stint at West Ham last term.

This is a player Arsenal will want to see the back of.

Park Chu-Young

Another Wenger flop this South Korean ducked out of a move to Lille to sign for The Gunners. However he has been thoroughly disappointing in training therefore making him unplayable for the first team.

He spent an unhappy time on loan at Celta Vigo last term that would not exactly of got the suitors scrambling but Arsenal need to let everyone know that Park is for sale.

Who do you think could leave Arsenal this summer?
