Gonzalo Higuain is still in talks with Arsenal regarding a potential move to The Emirates this summer. The Argentine’s dad is former player Jorge Higuain who has been speaking about his current options. He was quick to make it clear that nothing has yet been agreed between Higuain and any club; and was also clear that Juventus are still in the hunt for the goalscoring centre forward.
Reported Arsenal target Ashley Williams is being rumoured to be on the verge of handing in a transfer request this weekend; but Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins states that there has been no offer for the player. The Welsh captain has also been linked with Liverpool but as far as Jenkins is concerned he is going nowhere.
Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams has announced his disappointment at being turned away a place on the Arsenal board. The 46-year-old thought he ticked all the boxes to take a place in the Gunners hierarchy and he stated he would ‘make the tea for Arsenal Football Club’. Instead the chairman role went to Sir Chips Keswick which Adams claims is not a ‘very imaginative choice’.
Arsenal new boy Yaya Sanogo has admitted that he almost quit football in 2010; to become a postman. The talented French youth international suffered a horrendous double leg break and admitted he thought about joining the Postal Office as he struggled to recover from his nightmare injury. However he persevered and is now looking forward to joining up with the Arsenal squad.
Arsenal are set to do battle with Liverpool for Schalke 04 centre-back Kyriakos Papadopoulos. The Greek international defender is valued at around £13 million but Schalke are not keen on a sale.
Arsene Wenger has escaped major criticism on the annual Arsenal Supporters Trust survey. A figure of 71% of fans were supportive of the French gaffer but were less kind to owner Stan Kroenke; who was lambasted by the fans with 94% stating he had failed to explain his vision for the clubs future.
