News and gossip from the past seven days at Goodison Park.
Everton were of course one of the teams who learnt their Premier League fixture list this week. Roberto Martinez will start his time at the helm of The Toffees with an away fixture to Norwich on August 17th while the first team to visit Goodison Park will be West Brom a week later.
Other important fixtures include the Merseyside derbies; which are currently scheduled for the 23rd of November (H) and 28th January (A) while David Moyes’s return to Goodison with Manchester United will be on April 19th; with their first meeting at Old Trafford on the 3rd December.
Reports this week suggest that Roberto Martinez is starting to get back to work in the transfer market - and for once he is not being linked with a former Wigan player. Instead it is believed that he is after Granada left-back Guilherme Siquiera - as a potential replacement for Leighton Baines.
The 27-year-old is valued at £4.5 million and is also being chased by Turkish outfit Galatasaray.
Everton have apparently not yet received a single bid for their star player Maraoune Fellaini. Reports that Arsenal were ready to step up their interest in the player picked up last week but have now subsided slightly - as they are not keen on meeting his minimum fee release clause. But as of right now there has not been an official approach for the Belgian.
Leroy ‘The Bouncer’ Fer remains keen on a move to Everton. The FC Twente midfielder has just come off the back of an impressive campaign at the Under-21 European Championships and still dreams of a Premier League move with The Toffees.
He failed a medical in January and David Moyes has left since then but he still says the club are in contact and could reignite a deal in the summer.
Martinez is also being linked with bringing in Birmingham City winger Nathan Redmond this summer. The talented teenager is valued at around £2 million at St Andrews and the 19-year-old has already attracted interest from the likes of Swansea, Fulham and Crystal Palace this summer.
Finally and Everton have allowed young left-back Jake Bidwell join Brentford on a permanent deal. The talented full-back spent much of the last two seasons at Griffin Park and now Everton have allowed him to make the move permanent for an undisclosed fee.
