All the latest Tottenham Hotspur news and gossip.
Andre Villas-Boas has come out today and publicly reiterated that Tottenham’s star player Gareth Bale will not be making any switch from White Hart Lane to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, no matter how great Zinedine Zidane thinks the move would be.
"We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club." Villas-Boas told a reporter at Madrid-based newspaper Marca in an interview today.
Villas-Boas clearly has faith in Daniel Levy’s words because he has already committed himself to the club by turning down a three year contract from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Portuguese manager is lined up as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti who is expected to leave for Madrid this summer.
Tottenham are in the market for some players themselves now that Franco Baldini has finally been installed as the clubs Technical Director this week. He is reportedly lining up transfers for three of his old players at Roma, Erik Lamela, Marquinhos and Miralem Pjanic.
Top of the list for AVB will be a top-class striker and Barcelona’s David Villa is supposedly the man lined up to join the north London club and help them achieve a top four finish this season in the Premier League.
The club also have the Brazilian pair Paulinho and Bernard in their sights, both of whom are currently on international duty with their country at the Confederations Cup.
Paulinho has already impressed the Tottenham hierarchy at the tournament having scored in the opening game against Japan in a 3-0 win.
