Liverpool start the new season with a home match against Stoke City on August 17 before a potentially tricky trip to Aston Villa the week after. The club’s first massive game of the season comes against arch enemies Manchester United in the final game of the opening month.

Liverpool could sign Christian Atsu from FC Porto for as little as £3 million. The Anfield club have been linked with the Portuguese club’s star ahead of a possible summer move. Liverpool have been linked with numerous bargain transfers already this summer.

Liverpool are still in the frame to sign the £15 million rated Christian Eriksen. Liverpool were linked strongly with the midfielder last season but he seemed set for a move to German giants Borussia Dortmund before Jurgen Klopp’s team denied any approach.

Former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has completed his move to West Ham United. Carroll spent the majority of last season on loan at the Hammers and went through a medical yesterday. The deal is now set to be processed as soon as the transfer window opens next month.

Fulham are planning a move to sign Liverpool’s Andre Wisdom on loan ahead of the new season. Wisdom may be surplus to requirements at Anfield if Brendan Rodgers signs another defender, which opens up the possibility of a season long loan to the West London club.

Former Liverpool favourite and Kop legend Jamie Carragher has warned Liverpool fans not to expect too much late spending this summer. The defender has revealed Brendan Rodgers has planned to get his business done as quickly as possible, allowing Liverpool to settle ahead of the new campaign.

Former Liverpool striker David N’Gog is on the verge of a move to France, which could revitalise his career. The Frenchman has been playing for Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, the side he joined after leaving Liverpool. N’Gog is being tipped for a switch to Ligue One side Bordeaux.
