Tottenham Hotspur latest: Including Bernard and Boudebouz

Brazil Goal

All the latest Tottenham Hotspur news and gossip.

The agent of Brazilian starlet Bernard has declared that Tottenham are the only side who have made an official approach for the attacking midfielder Bernard, despite claims Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also in for him.

He said: "Dortmund have not submitted a proposal and Tottenham are the only contenders."

Bernard is currently on international duty and is not likely to finalise any move away from Atletico Mineiro until July.

Corinthians have re-affirmed Tottenham have an interest in fellow Brazilian midfielder Paulinho but state there is 'nothing official yet.'

The latest on Leandro Damiao is that Brazilian star of the past, Careca, has urged him to snub Spurs and move to Napoli - if Edinson Cavani leaves. The Italians are known to hold an interest in the striker and have long been rumoured as Tottenham's main rivals.

Former Arsenal star and rival to Spurs, Cesc Fabregas, has declared the figures being quoted for former opponent Gareth Bale as 'crazy.'

Barcelona star Fabregas would renew his rivalry with Bale if Real Madrid were successful in signing the Welshman.

He said: "For me, spending €100m on Gareth Bale is crazy. I don't know how any club could spend that amount of money in these [economic] circumstances.

"He is a great player with all the right attributes, but we will have to see if Madrid sign him and if he can perform there."

Talksport claim Spurs have an interest in Sochaux winger Ryad Boudebouz. They face competition for the Algerian from Liverpool, who was linked with the Reds last summer although no deal was struck.

On HITC today, Nick Harris plays devils' advocate, and asks if Andre Villas-Boas was to be pinched away this summer, what options are there for Spurs to replace him with. How would fans feel about Roberto Mancini...?
