Liverpool latest: Including Suarez latest and Carroll mega deal

Andy Carroll

All of the latest news stories and transfer rumours concerning Liverpool.

Liverpool have told striker Luis Suarez that he will have to hand in an official transfer request if he wants to leave the club. Suarez has made no secret over his desire to play for Real Madrid but the club have made it clear if he wants that to happen next season, he must do everything above board.

Andy Carroll is reportedly set to undergo a medical with West Ham United ahead of a deal which could cost the Hammers a staggering £46 million in total. The amount includes the cost of the fee plus the huge contract the Hammers seem ready to offer Carroll over a six year period. Hammers co-owner David Gold confirmed on Twitter this afternoon a medical will take place tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Daily Mirror has reported that Liverpool are close to finalising a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Henrikh Mfhitaryan. The midfielder will cost the club somewhere in the region of the £20 million mark, stretching the summer transfer budget to the absolute limit.

Blackpool boss Paul Ince has said he will not be selling his son, Tom, on the cheap. Liverpool have consistently been linked with their former player but Blackpool are set to play hard ball over the fee now that Ince has returned from holiday and resumed managerial duties at Blackpool.

Liverpool have been offered fresh hope in their pursuit of Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian had been in talks with Bayer Leverkusen, which have broken down and could see him become a free agent at the end of next season if he returns to the Dutch club.

Sevilla appear to be holding out for their £7 million valuation on Liverpool target Luis Alberto. The club have confirmed Liverpool have already made a bid for the highly talented youngster but are thought to be standing firm on their valuation, which Liverpool may well have to match.

Liverpool are thought to be in a straight up battle for West Bromwich Albion teenager Yan Dhanda. Liverpool signed Jerome Sinclair from the West Brom academy and seem poised to make a move for the 14-year-old ahead of the new season for their youth team sides.

Liverpool are set to miss out on highly talented teenage left back Lucas Digne. Digne has agreed to a 15 million Euro transfer to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, which means there is no chance that Liverpool can now do a deal for the former Lille full back.

Liverpool are one of the sides interested in signing Sochaux star Ryad Boudebouz. The Algerian 23-year-old has been attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs from all over Europe with Tottenham Hotspur having reportedly scouted him last season.
