Manchester United transfer news: Nani future uncertain; no move for Lewandowski

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United, including Nani, Robert Lewandowski and Bebe.

Sounding very much like his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo in the weeks before he left Old Trafford, Nani has gone on record to discuss his Manchester United future.

My future? Nothing is certain,” he said. “I am calm. I have everything in my hands. I am not saying that I will not continue at Manchester United.”

And yet with reported interest from Monaco and Juventus, and with stories at the weekend that Arsenal were favourites for his signature, it seems the Portuguese is very much on his way.

As is often the case with footballers on international duty, Nani spoke of his admiration for clubs in his homeland, including former side Sporting Lisbon. Although he later added, “I think my level at the moment is different.”

One player who could well be making a permanent move to Sporting is United winger and long-term loanee Bebe.

The 22-year-old has never settled in Manchester following his shock move in 2010. His erratic wing-play and crossing ability counter-balanced his devastating speed, to such an extent that United will surely take what they can for a player who cost them over £7million in a risk that never came through.

Reports yesterday suggested that Manchester City had entered the race for Robert Lewandowski. But is it a race when there is no chance of winning?

Stories this morning repeat what we have known for some time – the Borussia Dortmund striker has no intention of moving anywhere but Bayern Munich.

He also seems to have little care for the extra pound signs flashed in front of his eyes by willing suitors. Having already turned down an improved contract from his current club, expect the prolific Pole to be playing for Pep Guardiola in 12 months if not before.
