Arsenal are apparently ready to ask Marseille for a player in exchange for Gervinho - should the Ligue 1 side make a move for the Ivorian this summer. French international Mathieu Valbuena is the player in mind for Arsene Wenger should he want to move Gervinho on this summer and he is ready to offer him as part of a £10 million deal.
The links with another French international have gained momentum today. Lille midfielder Dimitri Payet has been linked with a potential move to The Emirates this summer and many of the nationals have also picked up on the story today.
Bacary Sagna’s interest in leaving the club has also not waned recently. The French international (sensing a trend) has stated he is keen on a ‘new challenge’ with Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco ready to make a move for the right-back who is entering the final year of his Arsenal contract.
Finally, and from the Arsenal website, the Emirates pitch was given its first cut of the summer today by the ground-staff in North London. The stadium has hosted three music concerts since the end of last season so it has been given time to rejuvenate before the cut which took place this morning.
