Liverpool's move for Iago Aspas has hit a snag after the Spanish Football Federation blocked the move from going through today. Luis Suarez has insisted he is not using the Confederations Cup as a way to force a transfer from Liverpool. Suarez continues to be linked with an Anfield exit but says his commitments to Uruguay this summer are not in any way connected to a desire to leave.

Liverpool’s business development director Jonathan Kane has been giving mixed messages over the future of Luis Suarez. While confirming the official club stance that he wasn’t for sale, Kane implied he would only be selected for the pre-season tour if he was still available.

Spanish Under-21 international Alvaro Morata has revealed he could leave Real Madrid if the Spanish side sign another striker. Liverpool were linked with Morata last season and his comments could encourage Liverpool to make a bid to bring him to England.

Shakhtar Donetsk have reportedly made a bid for Liverpool target Nacer Chadli. The FC Twente winger is being linked with a move away from Dutch football but reports in Italy have suggested that the Ukrainian side have made the first move to land him this summer.

If Liverpool are serious about a bid for Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet, it will cost them around £9 million. Reports have suggested Liverpool are mulling over whether to make a move for the Belgian but the price of under the £10 million mark could mean they’re willing to take a risk.

West Ham United are set to finally complete the transfer of Liverpool’s Andy Carroll. After negotiations over the price and the chance that Carroll wanted to return to Anfield, all parties seem to have come to an agreement which will see a deal go through officially next month.

Liverpool full back Glen Johnson has revealed he is using his spare time to study for a degree in mathematics. Johnson decided to do the course as he’s always enjoyed maths and believes there isn’t a job in the world where people don’t use the subject on a daily basis.
