Arsenal latest: Including Fellaini and El Shaarawy

El Shaarawy And Robinho

News and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Maraoune Fellaini is reportedly keen on a move to Arsenal from Everton this summer - but that does not mean the deal is all but done. The Belgian’s price-tag of £23 million is still causing issue with the Arsenal board and manager Arsene Wenger as they are not sold on the idea of selling out that much money on the player. Everton will not however budge on their current asking price; which would meet his minimum fee release clause.

Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has ended all speculation linking him with a return to The Emirates or Manchester United this summer. He called speculation over his future at Barcelona ‘absurd’ and ensured press he was happy to stay at the club this summer.

One of the teams reported to have had a bid accepted for Nicklas Bendtner is rumoured to be Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach. The Dane is available for £2 million this summer and five clubs have had bids accepted for the player. Now Gladbach have been revealed as one of the teams willing to give him another chance to prove his talent.

Arsenal are now being linked with a move for AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy. In what would certainly be a shocking transfer it is reported that Arsenal are willing to splash out £32 million on the player this summer.

Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Odil Ahmedov has once again announced that Arsenal have been watching him this season. It is the third summer in a row that the Uzbek holding midfielder has made such a claim and the idea that Arsenal scouts watched him every game he played this season seems far-fetched but still…

Freddie Ljungberg believes that Arsenal can win the title next season under Arsene Wenger. The Swede, who is now an ambassador for the club, believes they have the foundations in place for success and also sang the praises of his former boss as one of the greatest managers around.

Rumours linking Gilbert Imbula with the club are beginning to mount. The Guingamp midfielder would be available at a very good price and Arsene Wenger is said to be a big fan of the player after he helped his side win promotion to Ligue 1 last season.
