Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney ‘fears’ the fans may ‘may not forgive him’ after he handed in a transfer request last month.
According to reports, the Englishman is seeking ‘public backing’ and support from new manager David Moyes when he returns for pre-season training next month.
This comes as United fans vented their frustration with Rooney on supporters’ network redcafe.net.
Meanwhile, new signing Guillermo Varela hopes he can ‘continue’ United’s success after becoming David Moyes’ first official signing for the Red Devils this week.
“I’m very pleased to be a part of this club, one of the best teams in the world,” said the 18-year-old right-back.
“As everyone in the world knows, this is a huge club that has won everything and I really hope that continues.”
In transfer news, United have rejected a £6 million offer for Nani from Galatasaray as they are reportedly hoping for closer to £8.5 million for the Portuguese winger.
Meanwhile, The Sun claims United can ‘have’ Robert Lewandowski for £25.5 million after Borussia Dortmund insisted he would not be sold to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer.
According to the same source Lewandowski would command £90,000 a week in wages.
However, the player seems to think his switch to Bayern Munich could still happen.
Lewandowski told Bild:
"Who said that? The boss? I do not think that this is a final decision. I think that will change."
The club have told Red Devils fans not to ‘waste their money’ on trying to ‘buy’ Cristiano Ronaldo online, after the ‘BringRonaldoHome’ movement urged supporters deposit donations of £10 can hit the reported £100m buyout clause in the Real Madrid star’s contract.
Elsewhere, 19-year-old Schalke starlet Julian Draxler ‘dreams’ of playing for United or Chelsea (or Real Madrid or Barcelona).

QPR manager Harry Redknapp believes David Moyes will ‘hit the right note’ with his ‘new order’ at Old Trafford.
“I think you need your own people around you. You need to know people are on your side and be able to trust them and talk to them. I think everybody wants that around them. There’s lots of downtime in this game and you need people around you who you know are with you,” explained Redknapp.
