Brendan Rodgers has revealed he thinks his team showed great promise last year. Liverpool finished well outside the top four but Rodgers has praised the way the side recovered after a poor start and expects them to progress again to a better finish next season.

Reports in Portugal have suggested Liverpool will have to up their bid to sign Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The reports suggest Liverpool have made a bid of just over £4 million for the shot stopper, which has been rejected by the Portuguese club for being too low.

Liverpool attacking midfielder Suso says he is not thinking about a move away from Anfield. While admitting it was a frustrating campaign last season, the Spaniard says he is ready to fight for his place in the Liverpool first team next season regardless of his current status and imminent new arrivals.

Brand new sports channel BT Sport has announced it will be showing Steven Gerrard’s testimonial match against Olympiacos on August 3. Gerrard scored one of his most famous goals for Liverpool against the Greek side and all proceeds are going towards charities in Merseyside and around the UK.
