The future of Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel could be decided as early as next week. Skrtel has indicated he wouldn’t be adverse to a move away from Liverpool this summer, which will leave Brendan Rodgers with another big hole to fill in central defence.

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez thinks he’s targeted in English football because he’s South American. Suarez says he thinks the way he’s treated by the FA and the British media is to do with his Uruguayan roots, claiming he’s never been treated fairly since he joined the club from Ajax.

Liverpool are close to completing the £7 million transfer of Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo. The striker was pictured at Liverpool’s training ground ahead of a medical, which would complete the deal, allowing it to go through officially when the transfer window opens on July 1.

Liverpool are hoping to tie up the £5 million transfer of Sevillla’s Luis Alberto by the end of the week. Liverpool were recently linked with the Spanish Under-21 international but Barcelona have the first chance to sign the player after they had him on loan with their B team last summer.

Liverpool will go head-to-head against local rivals Everton to sign Wigan striker Arouna Kone. Kone has been tipped to link up with former boss Roberto Martinez at Everton but Brendan Rodgers is thought to be an admirer of the 29-year-old striker who bagged 11 Premier League goals last season.

Liverpool transfer target Ivan Rakitic has told current club Sevilla to spend big this summer or he’s ready to leave. The Croatian midfielder has already seen Jesus Navas leave the club with Alvaro Negredo also expected to go as well as Luis Alberto, which has forced him into issuing ultimatum.

Italian side Parma have revealed they have rejected three bids for Ishak Belfodil. The 21-year-old striker was scouted on numerous occasions by Liverpool last season and while it’s unclear if they were the side that made three bids to sign him but Parma have stated they will not accept a penny less than £11 million.

Pepe Reina’s agent has reiterated his earlier claims that the goalkeeper will not leave Anfield this summer. He has said there is no chance of Napoli or Barcelona signing him at the moment, contrary to reports which seem to circulate on various online media sources on a daily basis.

Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady will captain the England Under-20 side at the World Cup in Turkey later this month. Coady says he couldn’t be happier after he was told about the decision and he’s determined to fulfil the ambitions of the side to win the event before returning to Liverpool.
