8. 1967 - Israeli forces stop their advance into Syria and comply with a UN ceasefire bringing to an end the six war

9. 1976 - Paul McCartney and Wings set a record for an indoor concert crowd when 67,100 fans gather in Seattle

10. 1983 - The James Bond film Octopussy starring Roger Moore, premiers in American cinemas

11. 2011 - The European Commission gives the go-ahead for Croatia to become a member of the European Union
