An update on Chelsea related transfer news and gossip.
Two updates on potential Chelsea signings under new boss Jose Mourinho, who will be unveiled as boss at 1.30pm today.
- Serbian starlet Lazar Markovic could be a Chelsea player after all. He was expected to clinch a deal to Benfica for €10 million, as reported Portuguese newspaper Record this morning, where he is currently undergoing a medical.
However it is being claimed that Chelsea will actually own Markovic, and are sending him to Benfica on loan.
The claims come from Partizan Belgrade president Dragan Djuric, who said: "It is true, Chelsea will send Markovic out on a loan for two years,"
"But I really hope that Chelsea and Benfica will not come to agreement so Markovic will stay with us for at least the next six months."
The deal for playmaker Markovic, who scored seven goals and provided 10 assists last season would echo that of Kevin de Bruyne who has spent 18 months on loan since signing.
- The Sunday Telegraph claimed that Ezequiel Garay is a target for Chelsea, as also reported by Portuguese paper O Jogo.
The Blues are expected to sign a centre-half this season with doubts over how many games John Terry will be able to play next season and a possible switch of David Luiz to midfield.
Garay would be a cheaper alternative to Porto's Eliaquim Mangala, who would cost them €30 million, with the Benfica defender's clause at €20 million.
Manchester United are said to be advanced in the pursuit of Garay, and his signature could be a first 'win' for Mourinho over David Moyes since returning to the Blues.
Which of these deals would you most like to see come off?
