News and gossip from the past 48 hours at White Hart Lane.
Goalkeeping exile Heurelho Gomes has decided he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and England this summer. The Brazilian spent most of the season on loan at TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this year and he is down the pecking order in terms of selection. He is expected to return to Brazil in the coming months.
It is not the only Gomez related news this weekend as Spurs are also being linked with bringing one in. Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez wants to leave the club this summer and a plethora of teams have already been linked with his signing. Spurs are the latest to be considered in the running.
Tim Sherwood has declared himself ‘one million per cent’ certain that Gareth Bale will stay at Spurs this summer. Real Madrid and Manchester United are both being linked with making a move for the Welsh superstar valued around at least £60 million but Sherwood is sure he is going nowhere.
Spurs are also set to battle with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea for Brazilian winger Bernard. The Atletico Mineiro talent is being chased by the Bundesliga side in particular as a replacement for the departing Mario Gotze. And by all accounts Spurs will have a tough challenge to win the fight for his signature.
Hugo Lloris has categorically denied the rumours linking him with a move to AS Monaco this summer. The big spending Monegasque outfit are apparently looking at the Spurs custodian with envious eyes but he says he has no desire to leave the club as he moved to England for both personal and sporting reasons.
Fenerbahce are apparently after Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Turkish outfit are said to be readying a £6 million bid for the Cameroonian star who is reportedly not in the long-term plans of Andre Villas Boas at White Hart Lane.
