Paul Kafka, until recently Global Head of Marketing at UBS Investment Bank and former EMEA Head of Corporate Communications at Goldman Sachs, has launched Woodgate Consultants Ltd, a strategic consultancy providing communications and marketing advice.
The new consultancy will advise corporate, financial services and individual clients on managing their reputation in an international environment, post the financial crisis, where public opinion, in the form of regulators and governments, is demanding behavioural change and much clearer accountability from business.
Key areas of emphasis will be communications audit and strategy, sustainable brand development, contingency planning for crisis communications and distinctive marketing plans that reinforce client relationships. Woodgate Consultants will also provide personal communication and presentation training to clients’ senior management.
Kafka said, 'The challenge for business today, in the new era of social media, is to restore public confidence while growing profitability. Communications activity through all channels, both internal and external, is an essential requirement for companies and senior management to promote transparency and understanding, reflecting long-term behavioural and cultural change.
'We are already in advanced discussion with a number of potential clients. We aim to maximise our clients’ business success and contribute to achieving their goals through effective corporate communications and marketing.',
A barrister by training, Kafka has more than thirty years’ experience at the heart of the financial world, leading global communications and marketing teams and advising on a wide range of reputational issues. In addition to UBS and Goldman Sachs, Paul’s former employers include The London Stock Exchange, Fidelity International, Nomura and Hoare Govett.
Kafka is a director of the Bush Theatre in London and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
