Luis Suarez scored his first goal since that bite on Branislav Ivanovic and the winner as Uuruguay defeated France.
Suarez has been banned since that incident during the Premier League clash against Chelsea, meaning the friendly against Uruguay was his first chance to play some competitive football since April.
Liverpool’s main man was clearly lacking a bit of match fitness, which is the reason he didn’t start the game but he replaced Diego Forlan and scored the winner and only goal in a 1-0 win.
If he does stay at Liverpool then the signs are good because it doesn’t seem as though it’s going to take him a long time to get that match sharpness back.
It wasn’t his best effort but he resisted the pressure being placed on him by the French defender to poke the ball into the far corner before wheeling off with his customary celebration.
Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers, the goal does nothing to keep the interest in him down from the sides that are looking to poach him away on a big money deal this summer.
Take a look below.
Good to see him in form Liverpool fans? Or does that make you even more worried he’ll leave?
