Football clubs release new kits on a constant basis. It’s a marketing tool, an attempt buy the club to raise extra cash because the loyalist fans always wanted the most up to date replica available.
Football shorts also cost a fair whack of money based on years gone by, so is it naïve of them to expect respectable kits, void of fancy patterns and something which just does the basics.
Well if you’re a Liverpool fan then you can buy a white away shirt which looks as though it’s on fire as well as a purple and black number for those rare occasions where there is going to be a kit clash.
Football has seen some truly awful kits since marketing become more prominent in the game. Think back to that grey Manchester United shirt or the Arsenal kit which made every player look as though he’d been run over.
Ultimately, the only thing on a shirt which matters is the club crest but what was wrong with the plain red, white and black kits Liverpool have used before?
Nothing is the answer but get ready to get your wallet out if you’re one of the fans that likes to model the latest kit on a daily basis.
If you’re an older fan and like nothing more than a good complaint letter then the good people at Warrior are the company you need to write to.
Take a look.
What do you think? What’s the worst kit you’ve ever seen?
