Liverpool will target Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke if Luis Suarez leaves the club. Suarez has said it would be difficult to turn down an approach from Real Madrid and Villa’s Belgian superstar has emerged as the man most likely to replace him according to several sources.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge may be out of action for up to four months. The forward damaged ankle ligaments during England’s 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland and could be out for a long period despite not having suffered a break during the incident.

Liverpool target Gerard Deulofeu has admitted his time at Barcelona may be up. He’s admitted that he looks at the first team at the Nou Camp and sees problems but will not commit to a decision on his future until after the European Under-21 Championship in Israel.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that Andy Carroll’s proposed move to West Ham United will be completed this week. The big striker had reportedly been ready to turn down a move to West Ham to try and save his Liverpool career, but Brendan Rodgers has maintained his stance over the forward.

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic insists he remains fully committed to his club. Begovic has been suggested as a possible number one to replace Pepe Reina at Anfield but has left the door open for new Stoke boss Mark Hughes to approach him over his future.

Imminent Liverpool signing Iago Aspas provided the assist for the goal which kept Celta Vigo in La Liga. Aspas is being tipped to complete a move to Liverpool in the near future and went out with Celta Vigo on a high. However, his fee will now be slightly higher after the Spanish club stayed up.

Liverpool target Simon Mignolet has admitted he has the ambition to play for the club. Mignolet has recently been linked with Liverpool as a target should Pepe Reina go to Barcelona. He’s admitted he is fully aware of the links suggesting he is Anfield bound.

Liverpool will face a battle with Manchester United for 18-year-old Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton. Clayton has told the football league club that he’s not planning to stay beyond his current deal, which has sparked interest from the two rival clubs over his future.

Former Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy has hit out at former Kop favourite Rafa Benitez. The Welsh striker has accused the Spaniard of being a complete control freak, sucking the enjoyment out of training and day-to-day life at Anfield. Benitez has just been confirmed as Napoli’s new boss.
