An exciting young talent linked with moving to the Premier League over the past few months is German whizkid Leon Goretzka.
The 18-year-old currently plays for Bochum in the German second division, but his performances have attracted continent-wide attention.
Earlier this year Goretzka was compared to former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack, and linked with Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal.
His club manager said earlier this month: "I have never seen an 18-year-old who has so much class and desire. The boy will find his way into the world’s best."
The Express claimed it was a two-horse race for his signature between Arsenal and Borussia Moenchengladbach, describing him as the next Mario Gotze.
But both of those clubs appear to have missed out, along with Manchester United - For young Goretzka is on the verge of completing a deal to Schalke, report Bild.
The paper state that Goretzka has agreed on a five-year contract, with a €4 million transfer fee set.
It is being billed as an absolute bargain and so it is, but the problem is Bochum simply can't hold him back and are not in a financial position of strength to demand huge money for him.
A central midfielder, he scored four goals and provided five assists last season, making more than 30 first team appearances in his first ever professional season.
For Schalke it is a huge coup, as they can play him alongside fellow prospect Julian Draxler, recently also linked with the Gunners before he signed a new contract at the club.
Remember the name, for Goretzka could just be one of the big stars of next season in the Bundesliga.
