Liverpool latest: Including Suarez and Reina

The latest news to do with anything and everything about Liverpool.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is thought to be open to a move to La Liga side Real Madrid. Suarez has reportedly admitted that he would be open minded to a move, as speculation surrounding his future in English football rolls on as he continues to serve his ten match ban.

Liverpool are trying to hijack Arsenal’s planned deal for Lyon star Clement Grenier. French newspaper L’Equipe has reported that Liverpool have been in touch with an unofficial offer just below the £13 million mark, which could scarper any plans Arsenal have to sign the Frenchman.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has admitted it would be difficult to turn down a move to Barcelona. The Spanish shot stopper has maintained his allegiance to Liverpool throughout the rumours linking him with a move to Spain but seems ready to do a full u-turn.

Martin Skrtel’s agent has revealed the defender is likely to stay at Liverpool despite various links away. Former club Zenit St Petersburg and Arsenal have both been mentioned as possible destinations but his agent has said any move away would be a difficult deal.

Liverpool are close to pushing through a deal to sign Manchester City defender Kolo Toure. Toure has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield and is expected to be named as their first summer signing after his contract with City expires at the end of next month.

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted that there is still no movement over his future. Liverpool may need to move quickly if they still want to sign the Dane, as German club Borussia Dortmund are thought to be preparing an official deal to take him to the Bundesliga.

Liverpool are the latest side to have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Jesus Navas. Navas has been linked with several high profile moves throughout his career and Liverpool are thought to be ready to offer him a fresh challenge away from Sevilla where he’s spent his entire career.

West Brom striker Shane Long could re-ignite interest from Liverpool with a solid performance for Ireland against England this evening. The striker was on the club’s radar earlier in the season before they opted to complete a £12 million deal for Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.

John Henry has admitted he wants Liverpool to become a financially self-sustainable business. There has been a lot of worry in the USA that the Boston Red Sox will be used to bridge Liverpool’s debts but Henry has revealed he wants Liverpool to eventually become completely self dependant.
