'We could not be more pleased that Charlie has joined JMP', said Mark Lehmann, president of JMP Securities. 'Charlie is well known on Wall Street and has a well-deserved reputation as a top trader in the financial services space, a sector that has long been one of JMP's primary focuses. He has managed cash equity trading businesses at several prominent firms during his career and will play a key role in the evolution of JMP's institutional brokerage platform, an initiative that will remain a priority for the firm throughout 2013'.
Prior to joining JMP Securities, Sweeney served as co-head of U.S. equity trading at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., where he also had day-to-day trading responsibility for the financial sector. For the previous three years,

Beforehand, he spent two years at Deutsche Bank Securities, trading equities in the financial sector and overseeing all cash equity trading in his second year at the firm. From 1991 until 2007,
