Should Manchester City bid? - Zlatan admits he 'does not know' about PSG future

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has told French TV that he could leave Paris Saint-Germain should Carlo Ancelotti go to Real Madrid.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has had an excellent debut season with Paris Saint-Germain; scoring 34 goals in 45 games as the side raced to a first Ligue 1 title of the Qatari revolution and the clubs first such triumph since 1994.

But things at PSG are not looking so rosy.

Firstly there is the manager situation. Carlo Ancelotti looks almost certain to leave the club this summer as he requests a meeting with Real Madrid. It is now widely believed that the former Chelsea boss will take over form the future Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu this summer.

Then there is Leonardo. The controversial Brazilian has been making something of a name for himself for arguing with officials but is backed heavily as the likely successor to Ancelotti.

Which may just pave the way for their star striker’s exit; as the pair have not exactly got on recently.

The two had a very public vocal ruck when the clubs director of football asked the Swedish international to submit a drug sample to testers during the title celebrations.

And now, ahead of the final game with Lorient this Sunday, the 31-year-old has made it clear for the first time that he could be on his way out of the club.

Speaking to French show Telefoot he made it clear how he felt about the impending departure of Ancelotti; as you can see here via the presenter Frederic Calenge’s Twitter feed this morning (translated from French):

For years Zlatan got a bad press in the English media for his failure to deliver against our boys in Europe but after he single-handedly dressed down England for Sweden last November that conception has changed and any of the top teams in England would love to have him.

PSG are already looking to bring in Wayne Rooney as his replacement but Les Parisiens will still be after a sizeable sum for his services; a sum you feel only Manchester City or Chelsea could match.

Manchester City would appear his best option. They are in need of a star striker and he would certainly be the biggest in their collection.

Of course there is also the suggestion he could follow Ancelotti to Real Madrid.

But let’s hope not; because I personally would love to see the mercurial Swede playing in the Premier League before his career is up.

Do you think Zlatan is destined for the Premier League?
