One of the impressive things about Norwich has always been the tremendous work ethic and team spirit, which has been evident throughout the club with stand out performers all over the pitch.
Chris Hughton deserves huge praise for guiding the club to their league finish but so do several key players. Here are the five stand out performers from the season.
Bassong started every Premier League match he was selected for and formed the basis of a strong back four, which gave the entire team confidence. He bagged three goals and two assists to show that he’s also very important inside the opponent’s final third. His leadership skills were also vital this season.
Made his reputation as a player in the Championship but now looks very established and competitive at Premier League level. His numbers for the season have been superb; six goals and eight assists from 37 games as a wide player in the midfield, which is a set of stats similar players would kill for.
Similarly to Snodgrass, Johnson is a player who made his name in the football league but he’s now shown that he can be consistent over a very long season in the top flight. His midfield game has changed but he started 37 matches over the course of the season, which improves he’s very important in giving the midfield balance.
Seems to have transformed from the player of last season. His fitness has improved which means he is staying more effective late into games, he’s got great pace up and down the right wing and he’s bagged three goals which is a solid ratio for any right full back in the division.
He’s the player who holds the midfield together, ties up the attack and keeps everyone organised when Norwich are taking a lot of pressure. His fitness has looked a little vulnerable which has led to him being taken off in 20 matches but his numbers are as good as anyone else in the squad; three goals and five assists in 33 appearances.
Who do you think should be on the list?
