There are many strikers across Europe who find themselves linked with a different club nearly every other day. One such player is Saint Etienne front-man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international has been in excellent form this campaign for Les Verts and that has seen him linked with a myriad of teams.
If you want a visual representation of just how many well here is a list of the ones that literally come off the top of my head…
And I have no doubt I have most likely missed out a few in the process.
Today Swansea City have become the latest club linked with his signature while Newcastle United are also being continually linked with the player; as they look to continue their influx of Ligue 1 players.
St James Park has become a haven for Francophone players recently under the guidance of Alan Pardew but while that may be the case it certainly has not been reflected on the pitch this season.
After their excellent finish in 2011-12 many a Geordi was getting thoroughly excited by the campaign to come but in the end it was more than a bitter disappointment; and it could have been worse than that.
In the end Newcastle survived relegation by the skin of their teeth and their abject performance against Arsenal on the final day was quite alarming.
Therefore the club is looking to continue improving this summer and Aubameyang has been heralded as their main target in some quarters; as they find themselves priced out of a move for Andy Carroll.
But Aubameyang has reportedly been given some very good reasons to consider new interest in his signature.
Samuel Eto’o has seemingly tried to lure him to Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala where the pair would form a deadly strike partnership under future manager Roberto Carlos.
And the mega-rich Dagestan outfit are willing to offer him an eye-watering €7million-a-year salary to convince him that Russian football is for him.
While the lure of the Premier League is one thing; for a player that once famously wore a pair of £2500 diamond encrusted boots back in 2012 the offer of a substantial pay hike may just sway his thinking.
There is no way Newcastle can compete with the salary that the Russian outfit seem to be ready to put on the table and therefore a deal for Aubameyang once again gets less likely; as it does with every new team that is linked with the talented 23-year-old.
